Needing to purchase two tires to match as close as possible the two P225/50ZR17 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S's I have in storage. The car came with some Hankook's on it but I don't like anything about them. The two Michelin's are new and I would purchase two more of them if I had $400 to spare. Thanks for any opinions you guys may have.

I'll just have to recommend what I recommend...you really can't match different tires.

The BFG g-Force SS are excellent handling and quality at $105

Conti extremes if you see snow...maybe a decent "match" to Pilots $121.

Eagle GT is the next tire I want to try.$125

Turanza Serenity is on a par w/ Pilots quality $137

From what I could find information wise on that tire size and geed reviews on 1010tires.com a few came up. Dunlop Graspic DS-3 received overall good reviews at 129.99/tire The fuzion vri looks like another good choice as well for 119.99/tire.

Used tires suck.

Often, yes. New take-offs are fine. Just don't buy any with < 9/32nds, or stay away if they list x% tread life remaining.

Mix-matched tires suck.

Look on Craiglist for used Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, someone may upgrade their wheels/tires from 17" to 18", they would sale these for less than 50% of the list price. You may be able to buy a fairly new pair for less than $200.

I've had good luck with the new "Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500" tire. It comes in the size you are looking for. Don't know what type of performance level you are looking for but for a strictly summer performance tire it is quite, smooth riding and has good grip on the turns.

I think I'm gonna go with some Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum's--$115 or so at discounttiredirect and they are Z rated and a 60,000 mile warranty. Never had any Kumho's but I guess I will try. BTW---I searched craigslist and ebay and nobody had anything used that was worth pursuing.
