Alright guys. Does anyone know the difference between Mobil 1 5w30, 5w30 truck and suv, 10w30, 10w30 high mileage and Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0w30? Besides the viscosity I'm looking for a solid 7500+ drain for the winter.

That's the headache with M1 nowadays -- just sorting out which flavor might be the "best" for your vehicle and intended use.

Mobil 1 Truck and SUV 5w30 is the same base oil, same HTHS, same 40c and 100C as the regular 5w30. The difference is a "little" more moly, a "little" more boron, and somewhat more antioxidants.

Mobil 1 10w30 has 800 ZDDP, HTHS of 3.14, 100C cSt of 10. Mobil 1 10w30 HM has 1000 ZDDP, HTHS of 3.66, 100C cSt of 11.7. It is a somewhat stronger/heavier duty oil.

I know nothing about the 0W-30.

I have been using Mobil 1 High Mileage 10w30 in my Jeep 4.0L for awhile now. The higher ZDDP is better for the flat tappet engines. Just because it says "High Mileage" doesn't mean a new car can't use it.

In the 4.7 sludge-prone motor & an extended OCI, I would run 5w30 full-syn oil. I am not sure if they are making the Mobil 1 5w30 in HM formula yet or not?

But if I had a 4.7 I think I would change back to the oil 5w30 conventional 3k OCI because of all the worries about those engines. There are more factors that come into play.

But if you do run an extended interval, then you are correct to want a full-syn oil; especially for that vehicle in my humble opinion.

The Mobil 1 10w30 HM is an ACEA A3 long-drain, higer-HTHS oil that would be better suited to extended OCI's than the others, except MAYBE 5w30 EP.

If you have to worry about colder temps, then give German Castrol a try. It is a forum favorite & a fantastic oil that is working very well in my '08 4.7 with 7500+ mile OCI's under "severe service".

Thinking about trying the Mobil 1 10w30 HM or Mobil 1 0w40 next time around in the Dodge for the [censored] of it.
