Anyone know of any good chafe guards for hi temperature hoses? I need about 6in of chafe guard for a coolant hose about 1" in diameter. OD

I always like split loom for that purpose, but it can really be anything that will withstand the temps of a coolant hose. You could use silicone tape, or even electrical tape for that matter.

I take more hose the same diameter and slit down it lengthwise, as a "splint". This assumes there'll be a "safe side" and an "abuse side".

this.
to keep it in place, I use a couple of zip ties.
i use this method to protect any hoses or wiring that can/will rub on other parts.the split loom is good, as well.

The zip ties won't melt?

I do this also. For hoses that site very close or actually contact the head I use hose clamps instead of zip ties.

I do this as well, and if I am REALLY worried/OCD about abrasion, I put the split plastic loom AND the self stick silicone tape over that!

You can buy zip ties that are made of stainless steel.
