I recently bought a 2012 1.8L Chevy Sonic. The upper coolant hose has a sticky black coating I cannot clean off and stains my hands when I touch it. What is it? How to clean it? Should I replace it? Can someone identify the part and post a link?

I'm thinking oil or some petroleum product got on a hose thats EDPM. Not sure you can now do much about it but replace it. It may be degrading.

P.S.

That O2 sensor cable looks odd and taut the way its run.

That is oil that has softened the rubber, or partially dissolved it. The oil might be splashing up from somewhere or possibly the air conditioning condenser.
Either way, find the source of the leak, fix it, then replace the hose.
