Navy Federal, doesn't have my back

Used their credit card for a recent walmart.com purchase that didn't go well.

I had an opportunity to "upload evidence" so I made a nice PDF of my point of view-- that I got one-third of the product promised. It also included screen grabs of walmart's chat expert who promised a refund, who was then later overrulled by a higher-up in the store.

I suspect if I had an American Express, for example, they'd have tried harder.

This is not the only time-- during Covid, I ordered some safety shoes that took ten weeks to arrive from China. Under the Universal Commercial Code, a product has to show within 30 days if they don't give you a time frame. NFCU didn't have my back, then, either.

Shame, because aside from this facet of their credit card operation, I'm generally happy with them. I know I can get a card anywhere but I like the simple interface of having more of my stuff on one webpage.

NFCU has been great for us. Particularly with credit card fraud, they responded quickly and appropriately, and sent my new card via FedEx. It arrived the next day.

You bought 3 jugs of oil and 2 leaked?
I bought nine and three showed up. NFCU's communication was "it showed up, so we're closing your claim." Wonder if a person did the research or if it was AI.

Walmart closed your claim. NFCU closed your claim.

What did you pay for? How much did it cost? What did you get?

Can’t help but wondering if this is one of the many “pricing error, take advantage of Walmart” situations that get so much notice on BITOG.

Edit - yeah, it was one of those situations…and you were bragging about getting “free oil”.

Why should NFCU help you defraud another company?

Was this where you tried to order three three packs and they gave three quarts because of a listing error?

Navy Fed has been excellent w/r to handling many issues over the last 25 years for me with my credit card.

It sure was that wobegone oil deal!

Walmart the B&M store took the oil back today, so that deal or lack thereof was closed. The CSR at the desk was understanding.

There are plenty of scams out there like buying something on eBay and receiving a brick with a tracking number, so any readers/ NFCU members who think they're "in the clear" may be disappointed. I'm concerned that NFCU would point at the shipping confirmation and close the case in this example. Suppose I need to find a better bank's CC for "risky business."

So you paid $85 for oil, got 3 jugs, which makes sense.

But expected 9 jugs at around $9.50/gal?

Is the Navy's Credit Union card an actual credit card?

I had Capital One try to defend a blatant scam/fraud until I contacted the US credit fraud department and they looked into it. They slapped Capital Ones peepee into last year.

For an outfit that claims all over in ads about protecting their customers they had absolutely zero cares about my card info being stolen and the card almost maxed out in places all over the US.
I didn't even have the card yet, was that new!

Off topic:

Why are there so many Navy people here? Not comfortable with that. :ROFLMAO:
I'm just a civilian who moves radioactive garbage off submarines while they're being overhauled. This qualifies for NFCU.

BTW, you wouldn't believe how many Marine veterans I work with.

Back on topic, I wanted the article pictured and described, not the article delivered. Walmart's chat told me it was non-returnable. I eventually tried anyway and succeeded.

I just got a NFCU credit card for an emergency. I will never use it as it is 18%. I also have a California Coast Card that is 8%. I just joined NFCU. I am not impressed so far.
