Natural oil - What benefits does it provide?

Natural? Do you mean mineral? If so, it's cheaper.

It is usually cheaper. That is the only one I can think of off of the top of my head. Also if you have a vehicle that may have fuel dilution issues, I would use a conventional over "syn" and change it more often to keep the viscosity of the oil in the proper range.

"mineral base oils typically have higher pressure-viscosity coefficients than common synthetics, allowing for greater film thickness at given operating viscosities."

Hmmmm.

Well I attempted to compare Mobil's mineral oil versus Mobil1, but they don't publish the HTHS vaulues for the mineral oil.

From what I've read conventional oils are polar and will attract themselves to ferrous metals, which means a cold start the oil sticks to the metal parts.
Other than that cost ia another factor however Walmart is making syn oil far more affordable than it used to be and rollbacks can make quality oil cheaper than its conventional counterparts.

Maybe a natural-synthetic blend is the better choice? Best of both types.
Well my car was recently filled with conventional Mopar 5w-20 & on a snowy morning it sounded terrible. I wouldn't say it stuck to the metal at all. I'm switching back to synthetic as soon as possible.

Many times start up noise is much more relative to the oil FILTER than the oil itself.

I bet the ADBV is not working properly.

Does Mopar make junk filters?

Some engines are prone to higher consumption with synthetics. Although unless its significant I wouldn't worry too much about it,but if your happy with conventional and it curbs oil consumption by all means use conventional. Engines have gone many hundreds of thousands of miles with conventional lubes and I'm sure will go many hundreds of thousands of miles more.

Agree 100%, but I do notice quicker acceleration. And a little better fuel millage on Synthetic.

None, for a properly running engine that doesn't leake or burn a lot of oil. As for cost, consider dino should be changed aroung 5K +or- and a quality synthetic like M1 or others can easily,I say easily, go 10K with room to spare if one choses to do so. Now if you have an engine that's gone by, used up, and not long for this world then any old dino will do.

I completely agree and believe you. In a climate such as the cold we experience here a synthetic has many desirable attributes however engines last a very long time on just plain old conventional.
That being said I'm using PP right now because of its cold flow properties and due to tigs experience with M1 I'm going to try the AFE line next.
But if my motor gets more noisy I'm starting a thread on it, I promise that.
Darned tig

Well tig definitely has the experience with the stuff to back up his posts since he uses the stuff exclusively, and I decided this new year to have a bit more of an open mind.
But if it gets more noisy that's it. I'm swearing off Mobil forever and I'm going to pollute this poor forum with anti Mobil drivel til I get a months vacation.
Hehehe
