Lately there's been alot of Honda filter talk so I decided to add my 2 cents.A customer of mine recently purchased a 02 Honda Civic with the non-Vtec 1.7L engine and I'll start doing oil changes on it.He wants 3000 mile OCI and a fairly good filter thats not too costly.I'll start him on Castrol GTX 5W-20 for oil and have choosen a Baldwin 1402 and a Napa Silver ProSelect 21356 for comparison. To tell you the truth the Napa Silver looks pretty good.Made in Gastonia N.C.,has a baseplate by-pass (which I found surprising)and seems a top-notch filter from what I can see.The Napa silver cost me $6.89 Can and the Baldwin was $9.10 Can...a Napa Gold would be $12 or so..this guy comes to me right on time for oil changes, every time...so I think that using the Napa Silver and Castrol oil changes at 3000k would be the best cost/protection factor for him...any bad comments about the Silvers?
