Not to shabby for $6.41 out the door. Not really liking how the louvers aren’t really all that open, but the opposite side feels like they are. Made in China, which isn’t surprising, but look at those pleats! ADBV is soft, for now, but should hold up for 5k without issue. Looking to run these on my family’s fleet of Hondas…what do you all think? Media is roughly 39”x1 3/4”.

I've got a used one sitting here I took off a neighbor's Civic when I did an oil and filter change for her some months back. It was installed by a local shop, it's their jobber filter. Perhaps I'll get around to posting it soon. Construction seems decent.

That said, for that money (less really) and readily available, I'd go Super Tech MP7317 with silicone adbv and made in US. Which is exactly what I did on her Civic.

Thanks for pics.

Post some used pics if you can. For 5k I’m not concerned with the nitrile adbv. How long was the filter on her civic?

Just some anecdotal comments: They're fine for 5k, I have been using the US made ones for over 10 years. I went for 10k once and the media tore, it's quite thin in my opinion. I continue to usem them regularly but have not cut open an imported version. Thanks for the c&p @Bettez88 .

As I said, hopefully I'll get to it soon. I'm not concerned about nitrile either, but if I'm getting silicone for same or less money seems a no brainer 'to me'. As for fci, tough to say I can only guesstimate, I'll have to go back and look. She doesn't keep records, but shop uses windows sticker, and I believe they use 3k mi.

Now that I think about it, I changed her oil before and same filter was on there and I posted a c&p. It seems they have gone to louvers, vs holes for the two I've cut open. The louvers shown look fine. Linked is the last 27356 off her car.

Made in China, 6 bucks. Nope. Thanks for the pics though. At least it doesn't have that suspect rubber WIX combo valve that used to substitue the metal base end bypass valve on their jobber line. I had issue with a NOS one of those. Combo valve was hard as a rock. I did a C&P on that unit ages ago when I first stopped lurking and joined and started posting.

I still have that file somewhere. - Ken

The only usa made filter for $6 is a Fram extra guard or MP supertech. All jobber filters are Chinese now

I like that little screen under the ADBV. that's a nice feature. Just wondering if that gets much flow, or if it constitutes a point where flow can bypass the media.

This is a 3-4 dollar filter at best. If your price point is $6 dollars, IMO there are better options. You could also get a fram ultra for 7.62 with subscribe on amazon.

Wow, my ~$4 NAPA Golds from the fleet sale look better all the time, who would've guessed a Pro Select would cost that much? They used to be under $3 (I know, I'm old)!

The louvers on this filter look to only be open in one direction. Not sure if that's by design, or if the louvers in the other direction didn't form right during production. Looking at them zoomed in, they probably are meant to only be open in one direction. Some filters with louvers have them open in two directions.
