Napa Pro-Select 27082 pics

I bought this filter yesterday for $4.43. It's for the GM Ecotec engine. I always bought the Napa Gold 7082 for the Ion. The Pro-Select was $1.50 cheaper then the Gold. The Pro-Select comes with a black O ring, and the Gold comes with a green one for the filter housing.

This filter in made in Poland. It looks really well built for a cartridge. It has grooves where the pleats sit. I never noticed this on the Gold filter. I don't know how Fram can charge $9.00 for their 9018 filter? This filter is half the price, and better built.

It might look that way, but I think what you are actually seeing is simply the black gunk material they use to seal the ends of the pleats to the end cap (shown in your last photo).

The filter looks well built ... Hummm, Poland quality?

I'd opt for the american one too, rather support a american worker than a polish one.

Last I looked the $8 CH 9018 was foreign made.

At least for spin ons, we have plenty of good American options.

Just bought a SuperTech 9018 at Walmart for $5.47. Made in USA.
For a Cobalt 2.2 Ecotech.

I will have to check that out. Things change. I bought several Frams when I could get the same Perflux filter for $7 in an orange box as Mr Goodwrench wanted $8 in an AC box.

I skip the Purolator flavor of Koolaid.

SuperTech (which looked about average for the 9018) is made in the USA, as mentioned, and Purolator (not PureOne, which I saw poor quality out of - visibly anyway) are made in the USA.

Those are the only I have seen and I've opted for WIX (until a better filter is made or there are some moved back to the U.S. with great quality.
