So I see NAPA has come out the the Platinum oil filter. From what I can see it's designed to be their premium "synthetic" filter with "wire screen backedmicro-glass synthetic media" especially designed for synthetic oils, whereas their previous flagship filter was the Gold.

Can anyone comment on real life use of this newer filter for synthetic oils over their Gold version? I've always been happy with the NAPA Gold's (which I understand are made by WIX). My intent is to switch the vehicles I use the NAPA Gold filters in to synthetic soon, hence the reason I ask.....

The only NAPA filter I use is Gold. Nothing as far as real world testing has shown me a platinum is worth the extra money.

My 2 cents.

I've bought a few platinums lately.

I've never been fond of paper media filters. Sure they're time proven but, anything can be improved on.

I believe synthetic fiber is better.

My two cents.
