napa gold oil filters vs purolator classic filters

Sounds to me like nobody really knows what micron FRAM filters to as they only list a general idea, 95/99% at above 20 microns. Also lists nothing about flow rate.
Wix/napa list all their info. This leads me to favor wix
Its speculation with FRAM.

Really? This has been explained in detail by Motorking time and time again what the Fram numbers mean. It is not a question, it's not speculation. Motorking has explained so many times that it means @ 20 microns and higher.

Flow rate numbers on filters are meaningless because no one has a clue what they mean. Now if they gave flow vs delta P including the oil weight and temperature then they tell you a little bit about performance.

I understand stand motorking has said that as I've gone back and read much discussion about it.
Still its him saying it and it not being published by FRAM. Anyway my intended point is nobody appears to know what micron FRAM filters to ultimately or at what %.
I've read it stated several times 20+ at99% and 5at 80% but that means almost nothing to me as its just hear say cuz its not published for the consumer to see.
If I worked for FRAM I'd probably say its indestructible and filter better than any other filter ever made but that wouldn't make it true.

It's published on Fram's website. It's been discussed and hashed over many times that "greater than 20 microns" essentially means at 20 microns and above. Anyone with some mathematical logic knows that 20.001 microns is larger than 20 microns, and as the particle size approaches 20 microns you can basically say "at 20 microns or larger".

And yes, the Ultra flows very well ... just like any full synthetic oil filter will. As mentioned before, the flow numbers WIX uses are nebulous at best ... nobody really knows what it means as there is missing information to nail down what that number means.

Jay is a spokesman for Fram. When he posts his title is listed. If he was making misleading statements he is making them in Fram's name. No different than if it was on the oil filter box.

Jay is a good SALESMAN!! Just like any other salesman he makes dubious claims and stretches the truth. So what if they print it on the filter box. You can walk into any store and find 1000's of dubious claims on the boxes of any product.

This is for your G I assume? We haven't seen any torn 14612 or equivalent, so it might be okay to use for a 5k OCI.

Can you show us a specific claim he made that is dubious or where exactly he stretched the truth?

In fairness, I don't think we've seen any torn Valvoline filters, have we? The ones I've seen seem to be a little different than the Classic (i.e. how the QS is different than the Classic), so they may be okay.

Maybe I should contribute to the cause and cut one open, if I can do so without amputating something.

Every thread ends in a Fram discussion. I'd guess most of the Fram fan boys were Puraltor fan boys, most every thread a couple of years ago ended up as a Puraltor discussion.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.....lol.

WCOD is White Can of Death, AKA "Tearolator", Puro Classic. The NAPA Gold is a good filter, if they ever sold them for $3.60 on sale I would load up on them too-but-they're not quite on the level of a Stratapore, or Donaldson Endurance, or even the Ultra. If you use online codes (AAP), or rebates, it's possible to get Ultras for roughly the same price as a NAPA Gold-hard to beat for the price. OK, Jay, where's all my free stuff?

Well since I been on this forum I've never seen motorking post or respond to anything. Did he abandons ya'll or did he just recruit some of you to do his budding? Lol kidding sorta
