I cut this Napa Gold 7356 filter open tonight. The filter is off my sister's 2005 Honda Civic 1.7L. The filter was used for an 8,000 mile OCI with Super Tech 5w20 synthetic.

The silicone valve was in great shape.

I think this filter looks pretty good. This will be my go-to filter for both this car and my mom's 2011 Honda Fit.

+1

Thanks for the pics of a quality product.

Thought all NAPA Golds were black ... guess not. It looks good.

7356 is the Napa Gold/(Wix) replacement for the long time common application for the 1356 which has a black can. Wix changed the baseplate on the 7356 and it has gone through several mutations before arriving at the current one the OP dissected. Initially had nitrile adbv and dome bypass, then silicone adbv and dome bypass and now silicone adbv and metal thread end bypass. I have the silicone adbv dome end bypass version in my stash.

Now obtaining these for ~$3.70 with local Napa 40% off NG sale, an excellent value for traditional Wix construction.

Thanks for the pics.

Nice pics, nice work, nice filter! I have had a Napa Gold before that was white also, seems to be limited to less common or newer applications for whatever reason (mine was a Liberty deisel filter I was experimenting with, only 11,000 of those made). I don't recall ever seeing a Napa Gold that looked "bad". I scored 5 Napa Golds at half price last Saturday for the rest of my "fleet" and I'm feeling good about it.

That engine must be clean, oil looks pretty brown for an 8k OCI.

Thanks for cutting and posting Jeepman.

I saved a couple of those Wix ADBVs. They're still very flexible, like new.

The Nitrile ADBVs out of the ACDelcos are noticeably stiffer.

They will still be flexible 30 years from now.

I was very impressed with this filter. I'd also like to note that the can had a nice solid feel to it. I'll be using these on the Hondas for sure.

Aren't the pleats kind of far apart? The MC filters I use have the pleats much closer than these.
