I just watched the video, omg, those two creatures complaining about him are completely wretched, disgusting, and ugly as sin. They look inbred, especially that thing on the left with the f'd up chili bowl haircut, gross!! I'm guessing they're remotely human.

He seems like a really nice guy. Educated, well spoken, and polite. His shop floor is so clean you could literally eat off of it. Heck,I'd love to have him for a neighbor! Seems like the kind've guy who'd do anything for you. I see him as a hobbyist who loves working on cars and helping people. I hope all goes well for him.

Just watched the video...those women are psychopaths. Selling land to them next to his house will probably be the biggest mistake and headache of his life.

HOAs aren't the problem. The problem are people that move into a neighborhood with an HOA and thinking the rules don't apply to them. It's simple, read the rules before you buy. If you can't live with the rules, don't move there.

I 100% agree.

The reason HOA's exist at all is because of people that have made living in once decent communities, less than ideal.

I donated to the guy. What a crock. They wished him death by Jesus. SMH.
Let the guy wrench. Those two women? Well they need to find a hobby...

Where I live now is the first house I have ever lived in with a HOA. They have a 10 page document that tells you what you can and cannot do

I refuse to have someone else telling me what I can and cannot do with property I'm paying for...it doesn't get any more Hitler-like than this...

Um..no support for busy-bodies, BUT it gets quite A LOT more Hitler-like than this.

Hitler, for example.

I efing hate liberals, why ANYONE would ever give the power of choice in regards to their own house to other people is beyond me.
It's my house I paid for it, leave me the F alone. End of story. You don't like it MOVE!!! Why try and assert some sort of power and make other people change because you have a issue? Your the one with the issue, Not me or in this case; this guy.

This Utopian mindset is going to be the downfall of this once great country. They have forgotten, or never knew what "America" meant.
I sure didn't get where I am with handouts.

You state the we don't have nice houses because we don't live in an HOA, huh. Really narrow minded you are.
Try go driving around the country. Several of us have multi million dollar homes. NO HOA.

Fixed. We don't know those ladies are liberals... they can really go either way without knowing more about their biographies... which I'd rather not get to know more about.

Those ladies need to spend some time exercising and researching nutrition. Then maybe some guys will become interested in them and they won't have so much time on their hands. The ones that scare me are the cute, petite ones that give me the look of death. Apparently for breathing too much and taking up too much oxygen in the room. In other words no good reason! Have nice day and may your day find you merry!

Some people have nothing better to do. I'll never forget the day I was helping my brother and his wife move out of their rental house. The moving truck was an 18 wheeler parked along the street and the nose of the truck was half blocking the neighbors driveway. About 10 minutes into the move the neighbor (older woman) comes out of her house with her hands on her hips and starts talking to one of the movers with an attitude written all over her face. I see this continuing for about 1 minute until the neighbor storms off and the mover has this look on his face.

Long story short, she was angry that the moving truck was slightly blocking her driveway. The moving truck was situated such that the walkway down the extremely steep front lawn was perpendicular to the wide open side doors of the trailer. The mover asked her if she needed to leave her driveway to which she replied, "no, I just don't want it blocking my driveway in-case I have to leave." The mover explained to her that this would only be for about 3-4 hours and if she needed to leave they would happily move the truck for her. She wasn't having it - she was going to call the cops otherwise. So the movers had to move the moving truck up the road about 100 feet up the road so it wasn't blocking her driveway since there some cars parked in the street. Basically the movers had to move heavy furniture an extra 100 feet each trip and go down a separate set of steps, through the driveway and then make a 90 degree turn uphill because of this lady.

Some people are just miserable creatures.

In MY town the zoning says you HAVE to have a beat up sailboat in the yard "being restored". It's a "nice" seaside town.

Hull?

It all depends on what someone thinks is nice. Some people keep their houses pristine but have obnoxious parties. Even subdued parties i get tired of. Id rather look at the garage.

I suppose for someone who lives in an inner city and enjoys having others dictate what he can or cannot do around his property it's a good situation for you. Personally, I value the freedom to do as I please with my property. If I want to mow at 6:00 AM or work on a tractor at 8:00 PM I'll do so without anyone else butting their nose into my business, especially inner city and urban dwellers who prefer a nanny state.

I think the poster equates HOA with nice neighborhood. No thanks.

I live in a nice neighborhood where people have the common sense and common courtesy that if they had a junker or a project car, they'd keep it out of sight, but still have the ability to do as they please and work on things as they like. I can't imagine living in one of these home depot parts bin housing tracks where an HOA of overzealous people trying to make it look "nice" or "upscale" dictate others' actions.

Foirtunately even in Blue Jersey, common sense prevails in the area where I live, for the most part. "NOLA" (wherever that actually is) must be filled with slobs to require that comment.

JHZR2,

You probably live in an old nicer community without HOA.... not the traditional cookie cutter newer communities with mandatory HOA.

My brother's HOA left a note on his door that his grass was too tall and needed to be cut or the HOA would hire landscaper to cut grass and bill him $200

I have no problem with a well ran and enforced HOA. It's the ones that are poorly ran...and do nothing except take your money every month.

Many people today don't care at all how they effect others. They give no pause to lower property values.

My parents live in what would be considered mid to upper middle class neighborhood that's about 25 years old. They are, fortunately, not burdened by an HOA.

For the most part, people keep their property maintained-both the home and the lawn-and don't clutter things up. It just all works well. About the only issue is once every other year or so when someone has a wild party.

The condo community where I live has an HOA. I actually am okay with it, as they keep up all the exterior maintenance. I might come in one day and find someone pressure washing my siding or front porch. They also take care of snow removal, and it's nice to wake up in the morning with a parking lot in better shape than the roads. I actually don't mind them, although I don't always agree with some decisions. Most everyone who lives there is a young to middle aged professional, so there's no one standing there marking the fact that I didn't bring by garbage can in from the curve by 6:00 on the day when the garbage is picked up.

HOA does not mean nice or rich neighborhood.

I live in a HOA, and most of the Austin, TX suburbs are all HOA's.

There are a few areas with older homes from the 1980's that are not HOA, but everything else is. Unless you go out to the rural areas.

Never had much trouble with the HOA. We keep up the house, and the lawn, nobody cares what I do on my own property.

Nice folks all mid 30's in age like myself, everybody looks out for eachother.

We have a community pool, workout center, and frequent events. Does not bother me a bit, and the common areas look nice.

Neighbor yanked a motor out of his Toyota in the driveway, I do some work on my car. None of the houses look beat up or dumpy.

I almost bought a house in an HOA in a south Arlington,Tx suburb last year. I read the rules and I actually agreed with them. It was very relaxed and not strict at all. It said when working on your cars,it had to be done on your property and not in the street. I have no problem at all with that.

I think some HOA's are great and some are just asinine.

I wouldn't live anyplace that the homes were built after WWII. Other than a beach house...

Little bit easier to do on the East Coast. I grew up there. Little built more difficult on the West Coast.
