The lighting doesn't help. I struggle with this all the time. Many restaurants have not only low but also horrid lighting. Even at home, my lighting isn't good for taking nice-looking food pictures. Or is the abundance of myoglobin in Beef Wellington objectionable to you? I like my beef medium-well.

I have found that my newer cell phone takes good pics. I like my beef Medium. However, is usually undercooked. Don't order Medium Delmonico at a French restaurant, I was chastised and the steak came out nearly raw. I ate around the edge and told the waiter I wasn't paying for it. He wanted to make it good with a proper steak but I refused, because he made a big deal about med rare being better, arguing with me at a table of 10 people. To me a steak doesn't taste like steak IMW until it has been cooked to medium. It's my money and If they want me to pay for it, I won't accept it unless it is right, especially when their prices were stratospheric.

Two days ago I had to go on a little road trip on short notice. I grabbed my overnight bag and hopped in the car. I got to Vacaville around mid-afternoon and felt peckish. I went to Angry Chicks and got the medium chicken bowl. The slightly angry-hot chicken came over buttery rice and slaw and with mac and cheese. It's not too bad for a quick bite.
You went to cowtown for chicken. How many levels of heat did they have? When you say medium, size or capsicum level??
Seriously not seen many hot chicken places outside of that particular region of the south. I had some in Ashville NC. Pretty sure I still have the scars on my port of exit.
I could have stayed at a place that looked a bit like the Bates Motel but I chose to stay at a place that looked like a cross between something out of Narnia and The Last of Us. At least there was a pool filled with toilet blue. Excellent hygiene!

No, I went to Cowtown because I had to. I liked the Angry Chickz mascot. I'm easily suckered in.
They offer no spice, mild, medium, hot, X-Hot, and Angry. I would label their medium as hot but I do not like super-hot food. Should I go back I'll order mild.
It wasn't eyewatering but I prefer to taste the chicken rather than just heat.
