My problematic Volvo!

I bought my 2008 2.5 AWD S40 new off the lot. It now has 35,600 miles on it. It has been back to the dealer countless times for all kinds of problems. Driver side power window stopped working 3 different times, air bag system malfunction, thermostat got stuck open so engine could not warm up, power seat had problems, steering wheel rattles badly when turning, rear view mirror won't stay in place and slowly falls down, windshield wipers stopped working, last month the water pump went out and tonight my power steering pump took a ****.
There were other problems too but I can't think of them right now. When I was almost home tonight the steering got really heavy. I pulled in to my garage and found the car gushing P/S fluid all over the place. I'm about ready to shove the ****ing POS right up my dealers [censored]!!!!!
I love the car for how it handles and how very comfortable it is but it is by far the most problematic vehicle I have ever owned and I'm about at my wits end dealing with it.
What should I do? I have 4 years or 100,000 miles left on my warranty still. Should I suck it up and just let the dealer keep fixing it up or should I cut my losses and sell it for a more reliable car?

Sometimes the dealer is part of the problem.

Try another one. Can't hurt much.

The problem is EVERY manufacturer makes a lemon once in a while. Sooner or later if you buy enough cars you'll get one.

Sounds like way too much hassle to me. I would dump it and buy a Japanese or Korean brand. The Dutch heritage seems to have doomed the S40.

Michigan has a very strict Lemon Law. I sued Ford because I had a car in service 88 days in the first year of ownership. You may want to contact a lawyer as it appears you have a car that will continue to be a repair plague.
Auto manufacturers know that 2 out of 3 lemons end up in trade so they usually play hardball. Make it a point and stick it to them when they stick it to you.

I have owned five Volvos. 240D, 740D, XC70 (1999, 2002 and 2005). The 240D, 740D and first XC70 were the most mechanically unreliable vehicles I have ever owned. Always in the shop for something. Brakes were the worst. Ford took over and the 2002 and 2005 XC70 were completely reliable.

That said, with European cars, I lease, never buy. If they are great I can always buy out the lease. If they are terrible, just hand back the keys. I think of it as a three year test drive.
