I hope the insurance process goes smoothly for you. Is there any damage to the trunk pan at all? Cars these days really tend to crumple up in areas you can't see from the outside for occupant protection.

If there is damage to the uni-body at all it's best to total it out because it will never drive the same again. Some issues can take a long time to show up, like suspension bolts that mount to frame/sub frame cracking due to the stress. I've seen that one too many times. Keep us updated!

Prob wont b monday till i know something

. Went to enterprise and got me rental car. They gave me a p.o.s 2014 chevy impala limited. This p.o.s cars steering wheel it at the 11 o'clock position and had a drift to the right. Im going to exchange it Sunday for something else.

The fit and finish of the Impala Limited is terrible compared to the same body style 2013 Impala. I looked at a few used Impala Limiteds and the interior plastics all had huge gaps compared to the normal issue 2013 Impala. They run good tho!

really no damage 2 the front. Went to the body shop this morning he guessed 8-10k.

Well went back to the body shop this morning and were looking at 14k n damages. The front was worse than they thought. Allstate says 16k will total it. I told them find 2k more in damages. They need the car for a month. I walked across the parking lot to enterprise and asked them to trade in the escape fpr a different car because my gma cant get in and out of a tall vehicle. They gave me a 16 malibu with 40 miles on it. Plus they still cant get ahold of the lady who hit me. They need 2 because I cant afford a 1k rental bill plus car pmt and insurance.

What will it cost you to replace that car with a similar one? Figure that out before you push to have it totaled. A competent body shop will have no issue making that car look and drive as good as new. If it will cost you 3 or 4 grand out of your own pocket to replace the car, you might want to reconsider.

It's less than a year old, won't the insurance company replace it with a brand new, like-for-like version, at no cost to the OP since he wasn't at fault?

My insurance covers new vehicle replacement up to 2 years old. If it's not my fault, no cost. If I'm at fault, it'll cost me $500. (Plus of course a fairly hefty increase in my premium for the next couple years).

$14K in damages is a ton of money for that car. If it wasnt so new it would be totalled in a heart beat. If insurance repairs it i would quickly dump this veh and get something else soon after its repaired. If you keep it, GM wont cover warranty repairs on the areas that were damaged. Look into diminished value claim with the ins comp.

I hope everything works out for you in the end. We all understand that it stinks to be in that situation.
