A year of short hops, I'd change it. If you feel the conditions going forward are going to be the same get a UOA, with the TBN. That will tell you how well the oil did or didn't do and if you can stretch it out a bit more.

As is always the case in these types of thread the advice given is to yes, change it and no, don't change it.I'm curious about what happens to oil on day 365 that suddenly makes it unusable, when it was just fine on day 364.

Yeah that extra day is a killer.

Seriously though, it is guesswork without a UOA. Agree with post above that it's worth it to do one to set a precedent and remove doubt...figure out the interval for your car with your habits and call it good.

I have not "officially" changed the oil in one of my Fords since August 2015, however it burned a lot of oil until a year later i changed the valve stem oil seals, that means it has 20W-50 Dino in it which is some from 2015 and 2016.
I'll probably change it before the summer but i'm honestly not in a hurry.

Congrats on changing the valve stem seals ! :)

I take it , that stopped the oil burning ?

Which one of your Fords was it ? What was the miles on the clock ?

Bingo , you hit the nail right on the head ! :)

Remember , oil / filter on a car should be changed on a regular basis .

Kind of like flushing the toilet . For several of the same reasons .

Kind of like diapers and politicians both should be changed frequently , again for the same reasons .
