Nice comment. You must be a real joy around the holiday season.

Also, your comment is inaccurate. I have this year coupe...it isn't "gigantic" in the slightest. The lens and close angle of the photo makes it look that way. As for "heavy"? Nope. Another inaccurate comment. It get's well over 40 plus mpg's on the highway and in the 30's around town. Can't be heavy with a four cylinder and get that. Lastly..."slow"?? Hardly. It's actually quite quick. Especially for a Civic. Now if you are comparing it to a Hellcat or an M3...yes, it's much slower. But in it's field, it performs well. It actually equals a Ferrari 308, of the early eighties, 0-60 times. Yes, odd comparison...but kind of makes you realize that we've come along way in that time.

Yeah, the angle of the photo make the car look much bigger than it is. It isn't gigantic at all. In fact if I remember correctly, the exterior dimensions (other than perhaps width) are actually a bit smaller than the previous generation, at least on the sedan, but more interior room. I'm not crazy about the big strip of chrome on the grille, but that's a matter of taste. It wouldn't keep me from buying one. The VTC actuators that are already acting up on some new owners might though. Lately it seems like many makers are having that problem.

I'd probably like my little coupe if it was as big as yours. As-is, my hair sometimes touches the roof, and I'm only 6' tall.

The benefits for you are a 6.7s 0-60 and good gas mileage!

Have fun with it!

I've got less oomph, too. The Foz is still fun, but lacks the pre-update kick.

They sure have come a long way since I bought my first one in 73. Very nice.

My 2016 Civic coupe doesn't have the DI. I got the 2.0. Very smooth engine. No idle clicking either.

I rented two different 2016 Civic LX sedans, this car is greatly improved over the previous Civic. Great interior and very smooth, strong engine. 70 MPH to 110 MPH on highway is very quick. Honda improved the chassis and made the interior very quiet.

I want to drive a base Civic with manual transmission, CVT was nice but not my preference.

Maiden voyage 244 mi. to my cabin today 44.3 mpg. the total miles on unit are 280 so this likely will improve....zero wind, 65% 79 mph - 35% 60 mph I think thats amazing....in fact this 'Touring' pkg. is really a wake-up call inside and out, whoa.

Yep...isn't that great! I know that when I drive mine I am still astonished at the combination of performance, comfort, quality, and mpg's.

Honda did a great job.

on this trip I was just under 80 for 172 miles then two lane for 70 miles passed twice 'pedal to the metal' but also stopped to purchase deer feed 100lbs., detoured 11 miles and 4 stop signs on top of a 15 min traffic jam departing Milwaukee metro at a crawl...

This is a very realistic trip, by no means ideal except for the very light wind. I do this trip twice a week, every week. It will be interesting to compare a trip at 0F with 30 mph NE winds off Lake Michigan...stay tuned that's coming.

This model has the radar Adaptive Cruise, Lane Departure assist and Apple carplay so I can do business and eat lunch on the move safer.

Very nice interior.

Are you liking that parking brake? I always have an odd habit of pulling the switch when I should be pushing it...and vice-versa!!

rarely use it here except launching a boat save that to Highlander..pretty much always parking on level pavement...I see a second button right there next to it marked brake hold?
spose I won't need that either.

I don't stock 0/20 motor oil so I'll go with the Citgo Supergard 5/20 Synthetic Blend since I can't imagine it causing trouble. Hope they get this 0/20 priced below a dollar A/R like the other weights.

Ha! Ha! "John Deere parking only" for your new Civic. Very nice looking car.

Nice car, I do much prefer the aesthetics of the Coupe to the Sedan.

You guys are brave with those white seating surfaces... they look great, but I'm just not usually that clean....

I enjoyed the mid 80s civic 3 doors; They were a brilliant Honda San Brainstorm.
I gravitate away from swoopy cars and heavy cars (in this category).

84 civic 3door vs 2016 coupe

new length = 176.9, old = 149.6
new wheelbase = 106.3, old = 94
new curb weight= 2739, old = 1773 lbs

new torque = 138 lb-ft, old = 93 lb-ft

new weight per unit torque = 19.9, old = 19.0

Clearly the new civic is almost a midsized car.
If you want a Mitsu eclipse replacement I guess this may do.

I owned a "chick car" too. A 2001 Stratus R/t in pearl white. Took a bit of ribbing over that one.
Any way you spin it, though the new civic is NOT Macho.

I not really serious here, buddy - just bustin em, a bit.

Great MPG, and [finally] a good looking Civic coupe again. Please check your #s with actual refuel quantities over a few tanks and report back (my Sportwagen is ~7% optimistic).

but holy ____ $26,960 MSRP? Seems a bit much for a 2dr Civic!!!
