IMO this guy is straight from the ilk of George Patton. These are the sorta guys that I want in the army to lead our troops. The right guy for the right job:

"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A senior U.S. Marine Corps general who said it was "fun to shoot some people" should have chosen his words more carefully but will not be disciplined, military officials said on Thursday.

Lt. Gen. James Mattis, who commanded troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and is slated to be portrayed by star actor Harrison Ford in an upcoming Hollywood movie, made the comments at a conference on Tuesday in San Diego, California.

"Actually it's quite fun to fight 'em, you know. It's a h3ll of a hoot. It's fun to shoot some people. I'll be right up front with you, I like brawling," Mattis said.

"You go into Afghanistan, you got guys who slap women around for five years because they didn't wear a veil," Mattis said during a panel discussion. "You know, guys like that ain't got no manhood left anyway. So it's a h3ll of a lot of fun to shoot them."

You know it is funny how the liberals tell you to have fun in your chosen profession, like being an actor in Hollywood. Then when a real general has real fun, all of a sudden it is a bad thing.

When I was in the military, it used to make my skin crawl when these very like minded critiziers used to refer to folks in uniform as "our boys and girls, sons and daughters". Shoot, if those folks cared so much, why didn't they go instead?

You probably would have to worry, since if the word was out, they'd be targeting your house and most certainly not his. . .

EDIT: unless of course, similar word about you is on the street too!

Who was it that said "war is #ell!" Well, it is. Killed or be killed. Don't think for a minute that some over there would bat an eye before killing you.
