Like I have been thinking for years. I think the average american income will slowly be equal to like living in a euro country. Imagine, the average person not being able to afford a new car.....

Actually, I have a friend from India. On the wages they will get paid in India, they will live very well. While it's not directly comparable to what is here in the USA, the Indian standard of living for anyone with skills or an education is pretty much middle class.
My parents are form Malta, in Europe (actually in the Mediterranean, south of Sicily). A relative my age, born and educated here in the USA, a few years ago quit his job, cashed out all of his retirement accounts and hauled butt for Malta. Got dual citizenship there so he can get on their national health innsurance. The cost of living is so bloody low, compared to any where in the USA or Canada, that he was able to live off of his savings (from the cashed out retirement accounts and the sale of his house) without a job for over three years without putting hardly a dent in his bank account. Now out of shear boredom he got a job.
Don't make assumptions about any where else unless you live there. The actual costs of living and the standards of living, between the West (USA, Canada, and Western Europe), and the d@mn Third World, are real hard to compare, and we're going to get screwed by the competition.
Actually, for the educated workers there, and even many non-educated textile type workers, working conditions are excellent and the standard of living is growing by leaps and bounds (mainly for the college educated Indians that are taking all our high tech/service jobs like call centers). However, the gap between affluence and outright worlds worst poverty is widening by leaps and bounds as well in India.

They want all your money upfront and the ability to steal all your money in the future. The government and lawyers are nothing but blood sucking leaches. I can honestly see why a business would not put up with the crap they are subjected to just to be labelled "American made". Keep voting for Democrats and business'and jobs will keep disappearing. NJ is a perfect example. the only jobs we have left are fast food and service jobs. The manufacturing and even white collar jobs are leaving the state at an alarming rate. High taxes, government regulation and Union demands have driven "good" jobs away. What's that saying.."you reap what you sow..".

True, several accounting firms (not the big tax prep services) were outsourcing returns to India. Image not only the language issue but knowledge as well. Having prepared tax returns these past few months I can say that it appears most foreigners (not Europeans) do not understand that if they earn income they have to pay taxes. They thing they should get back all withholding then some!quote:

Even though software makes the tax prep easy there still needs to be some basic knowledge. Even the big ones preparing them today are hiring less then competent people (only pay $7-$10/hour) so you can see why they have problems getting people.
India is only following China. The West helps China a lot to develop its economy. More investments there, quicker China will kill (naturally, economically) its donors, and the US is the first target. WTO helps a lot too. Unfortunately it's too late to change something: the process is already started. In 5-7 years US$ will be substituted by Chinese Yuan as a world reserve currency. Nowadays its GDP is already higher then that of the US, gold reserves are huge, but kept in secret. China just waits for its time. That's why they are so steady in their actual yuan policy. Now I understand well chinese expression from the time of a cold war: Pacific Ocean will be really pacific when Chineses will rule on its both coasts !

Oh ya maybe people have histo-political amnesia here but Japan, Taiwan etc have long been "taking" industrial jobs.

Does the Chinese and Indian government work to protect its infant industries? I think the answer is yes.
Why won't the US act to protect our mature industries? It is in our national interest to protect and maintain certain industries. The US Steel industry died when Asia dumped cheap steel here a few years ago. Now steel prices are high again (the bulk imported). How smart is it to write everything off to a world economy, when our competitors aren't doing the same?
I think we're under the delusion that because we play fair, everyone else does (or will) too.
EDIT: There may be an element of guilt for having shafted the third world for so long, too.
As others have said, outsourcing has been going on for quite awhile although I believe it's accelerating. Without some controls there are two possible endpoints that I can see.
1. Our wages fall while other countries rise until they reach a rough parity level.
2. There aren't enough people left here with jobs good enough to purchase goods from American companies.
Either way it's a race to the bottom for the American worker unless he can find the skills needed to make his job one that is better left here. Good luck on this since it'll always be difficult to compete with countries that have no EPA, no labor regulations, no unions, no problems with company liabilities, etc...
