My girlfriend just purchased a 2007 300C sludge

Yeah I'd change the oil and monitor consumption, get to know the car for a few thousand miles and then come up with a plan.

Which engine is in it? Hope it's not the 2.7 - although they did get better in later years.
Oh my bad it's the hemi

With 170K on that engine, I would just do a synthetic oil change, clean the PCV valve, check for oil leaks while you're under it, and a bottle of Techron in the tank. Then just monitor engine for oil consumption. If you're burning a quart of oil within 3K, I would start using Valvoline Restore and Protect on all future oil changes, at 5K intervals.

My girlfriend fiancé Keisha just purchased a 2007 300C with 170,000 miles. By examing the dipstick and noting the oil was dirty and a quart low I concluded that this car was not maintained well. What is the best method to clean a dirty hemi. Seafoam rislone marvel mystery oil hot shots?
FIFY
We are engaged so I am in it for the long haul.
Then you need to change the title of the thread and future references or she may have some very choice words for you.

Besides that I'll echo what many said. Probably cheaper stuff now for some quick low mile changes, monitor usage. After that Valvoline Restore and Protect as well as all the rest of the normal DIY maintenance.

Change the oil & filter ASAP and use Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30. Recommended filters are any of the synthetics that are 99% @ 25u or better like CarQuest Premium, EcoGard / MicroGard / Premium Guard Synth, Pentius XL, etc.

This high mile oil question reminded me of MANY years ago...

1986 I think it was... Me and all my buddies still had our 76-78 Datsun 280Z's that we all had in High School about 6 or 7 of us all owned and LOVED 70's Z cars , We all were kinda Z car experts but I will never forget the day my buddy and I were both outside in the driveway detailing our cars and my then Girlfriend (fiancée) pulled up in her NEW TO HER 78 black 280Z... As she pulled in I had no idea she was even looking for a Z car much less had purchased one so as she is pulling in at 30' her car was beautiful, new shinny black paint but as she got to 20' close I looked at my buddy and he I and we didn't say a word, we didn't have to...

As my girl got out I responded with a gosh, what did you buy? Her response was she and her mother had found her new car!
My buddy and I locked eyes again and said nothing but her new black paint was pained over rust! It had HUGHE 2' to 3' rust bubbles under the new paint that my girl ( and her mom didn't even notice )... Boy that was hard being "happy" for her and her new to her car... I never said anything but wow, nice shinny paint and wow great Stereo!

Boy that car was a Northern rusted out dog! I'm surprised it never snapped in half on the highway from the rust...

At that point I stayed out of TOUCHING her car as IF anything went wrong it would have been my fault.

At that point I realized how independent she was as it truly surprised me she didn't ask my advice or our Z expert friends. A few years later I realized that car was not the only thing she was NOT telling me about.

I married someone else, had a family and she never married, and is now a retired independent thinking Cat lady...
