I've really loved this forum since I discovered it a few weeks ago.
I was due for an OC, but it kept getting put off since I can't do it so easily any more (no more garage and tools and pans now that I live in a small apartment). While I was procrastinating I used BITOG to research a new fill for my truck.
It ran on regular Mobil 1 5w30 for about 160K of its 215K+ miles.
It uses some oil but I don't think its blow-by, mostly seeps.
I'm lucky to have a retailer that carries the FullSyn MaxLife, so that's what went in (@ OEM spec weight, 5w30). No change to my habit of WIX filters though.
I'll be logging my top-offs from now on to see what my consumption really is, I'll be interested to see if the MaxLife helps matters.
My planned OCI on this fill is 6K. Temperature conditions here are ideal for cars, and my commute is moderately severe (little highway, 12 miles each way to work, stop and go).
