Nervous about this: BITOG, Choose my oil!

We have (652) 07-10 Dodge Charger V6's in our fleet, it has been our experience that some of them burn oil and some don't and there is no rhyme or reason to it. Dodge says all engines burn oil which is technically accurate but not at this rate. In fact I had one in particular that was 3 quarts low at 4k, the oil was changed and filled, 5k later the engine was knocking with 3qts low again. Dodge had to replaced the engine with 9k miles. Each employee is required to check the oil at the beginning of their shift now.

I agree.
Otherwise you will be chasing you tail for nothing.
1 Quart/1000 Miles is within an acceptable range.
But you could try a thicker oil and see how you go. Even if it's not approved you won't hurt anything.

Cheers

Try M1 15W-50 - especially with summer coming. If that doesn't slow it down, nothing will. Maybe a cheap 20W-50 dino after that if you have to keep adding - then a 10W-40 in winter. Old school oil burner remedies.
