My favorite Porsche. Yours?

The first 911 Turbo... OMG this car changed everything.

Had a black one, and not the Turbo. Not terribly fast but the handling was top notch. Always turned on the headlight to parallel park though, the end of the hood was impossible to see. And never had a car before where you almost sat on the rear axle, gave a strange feeling while turning

In '88 they had two turbo options, the Turbo and Turbo S. In '89 the former Turbo S package, became the only "Turbo" option. That car got great gas mileage even at well over 100 mph. I recall covering 300 miles in 3 hours on I-15. That would be impossible today with the increase in traffic, cellphones, and enforcement.

I bought that car from my Brother In Law when it was a year old.

My BIL has had a string of 911 Turbo S's. He's always offering them to me when he's ready to sell them, but I enjoy our hopped-up last-gen Viper. I see 911's all the time, rarely do I see another Viper.

Interesting that you mentioned the Viper. This one showed up at the same track day. I think it was a 2010 ZB2 SRT-10:

Yep, that's a previous gen ZB II.

We had an early (2013) VX 1. I sold it and bought a 2017 a few years ago. They made huge improvements to the handling, braking, and fit and finish in the last gen. I took the forced induction system off the 2013 we had, and installed it on the '17. 1100 hp and torque on pump gas.

I don't know what modifications that one had, but his biggest concern was not wadding it into wall when the rear tires broke loose. Like what happened to this squadra corse lamborghini huracan gt3 evo 2 being pieced back together.

I hate to go too far off-topic, but they're all performance cars at least...

Anyway, I drove prior gen Vipers at the limit, and I'd say they could all become diabolical with oversteer. The last gen is so much better handling, especially with the ACR package, that it's shocking. The fit and finish is night and day better too. The carbon/ceramic brakes make a huge difference as well.

Here's what Randy Pobst said about a stock ACR at Laguna Seca:

Okay, one more video just for fun:

I still like the 356C Jeff pictured in his opening post.
Quite slow by current standards, but very attractive with real old-school charm.
That would also be an eye-wateringly costly car in the current market.

Well, the answer is staring you in the face. Get a nice Bathtub, a Taycan Turbo and a nice garage to keep them in.
And let me take them for a spin...

I've got the nice garage, having had as many as five cars in it, but I lack the funds to comfortably afford both a lovely 356 and a Taycan. Would be a real stretch.
Between the two, I'd take a good driver quality 356, since I'd like to drive it daily in good weather and not worry about spoiling a 90 pt restoration.
