I loved my VR6, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a Corrado though.
It was the major flaw of the Corrado IMHO.One thing about VR6 on Corrado was understeer. Holy moly!
I owned a 1977 Scirocco. Fun car. Fed it Castrol GTX motor oil. One unusual feature: it had a single windshield wiper. One July 4, my black labrador got spooked by local fireworks and jumped through the open driver's window into the car. When I impatiently retrieved him, his nails sliced open my seat cushion. My relatives got a chuckle out of that. Me, not so much. While the Corrado was nice, I preferred the overall proportions of the preceding Scirocco.
To me, it just seemed more balanced (and DeLoreanish).
The 309 Gti 16, despite it's ugliness, would beg to disagree....
The similar VW GTI in Eurospec was a winner but the Peugeot 205 was the best hothatch.
After a quick inflation calculation thats about 60k today. You`re right, not cheap. These were like $24K new in 1990. That was a lot of money back then.
Yep, 1.8 16V. Best fit in that car.I love the Corrado. They're best with the European 16V, IMO.
In the Scirocco too.Yep, 1.8 16V. Best fit in that car.
Black 16v Scriocco with black interior was a mean looking car!In the Scirocco too.
The one VDub that got away. I had a manager at County Seat (mall clothing store I worked at when a teenager) that owned a gorgeous silver one. Man I loved VWs.In the Scirocco too.
