None of the muffler tapes I used ever held worth a flying flock of quackers. But they are nice because they stick. Coat hangers and soup cans weren’t bad but sound gets through. For a “quality fix,” perhaps muffler tape first, then a cheap sheet metal square held down by whatever you can rig for 3-4 long threaded hose clamps would work. Youre halfway to the price of a cheap muffler at this point…
