Attached are the UOAs for my boat main engines. Engines are 1900hp per engine, MTU 12V4000. Port and starboard engine reports are attached. We sample and change the oil and five Wix 557012 spin on oil filters per engine every 1,000 hours. Delo 400 LE 15W-40 conventional oil. Everything is looking good with almost 30,000 hours on the engines....😎 We run 80-90% load more often than not.

All I can say is ... WOW !!!
Those both exhibit some seriously good wear rates. Fe around 6-9ppm for several successive 1000 hour OCIs is incredible! The other wear metals are essentially nothing but noise. Soot and other contamination is practically non-existent.

So, thinking about the loading factor you mentioned, that would be akin to perhaps running 75mph for an average car or light duty truck, which makes your 1000 hour OCIs roughly equal to 75k miles! And yet you're averaging around 1ppm Fe per 1000 hours! With conventional oil. OUTSTANDING!

Is there an OEM or aftermarket bypass filtration system? What's the sump capacity on a 1900hp engine like that?

No bypass filtration. I think the 5 monster Wix spin on oil filters help? I've never seen bigger spin on oil filters than these. I think they are $75 each. 100 gal sump capacity per engine. They don't use much oil either.👍

100 gallon sumps and 5 filters makes for low wear!
Curious ... what's the displacement of the engines?
