Here's the latest UOA for our 1995 DD12.7L 60 series with 118,600k miles. Oil and filters were new 17 mths ago. Engine is in a 1996 Prevost bus/mh that weighs 41k to 46k #s, depending on what I'm towing (or not), going down the road at 65 mph. Avg mpg is 8 mpg. We no longer pull a stacker (sold).

The oil in this report (#7) is Amsoil AME Synthetic HD Diesel & Marine 15w40. https://amsoilcontent.com/ams/lit/databulletins/g473.pdf The oil filters are dual Fleetguard # LF9620, their "Venturi Combo" design: https://www.cumminsfiltration.com/venturi .
Oil viscosity has thinned a little but still in the 40w range. Starts life new at 15.4 cSt. Norm for 40w is 12.5 cSt to 16.3 cSt. TBN (additive package) is still plentiful.

Report looks good to me. I'm not changing the oil anytime soon.

Report #1 oil was 80% Amsoil 10w-40 HDEO and 20% Rotella T-3 15w-40 HDEO.
Reports #2 & #3 were the same load of 90% Delo LE 15w-40 and 10% Rotella T-3 HDEO.
Reports #4, #5, and #6 were for 3 different loads of Mobil Delvac Super 1300 15w-40 HDEO.
#7 is this report.

What say you?

Yeah, sold our drag race car & trailer (nearest track closed). Now we just tow our Toyota FJ Cruiser 4 down, or a golf cart in a small trailer.

Bum on the track closure... I've seen too much of that in the last 15 years. Nice that you're towing something different than a standard Jeep I see being towed regularly. ;)

#6 was that easy towing or easy terrain? Anything different? It seems to be your lowest wear on Fe so far. Does DD share maximum UOA limits for this engine?

Maybe 25% of #6 was towing the 10K# stacker. The rest of the time we're lighter.
Detroit says 200 ppm for FE.

It appears the engine did just fine on the Delvac 1300. I’m wondering if the Amsoil is worth the additional expense?
