The following is not derogatory, it is my opinion, based on the facts.
Most medals of all time in gymnastics, sure.....greatest of all time, I think not.. Just like calling Labron the Goat, and arguably Tom Brady.
She does have amazing capabilities, of course coupled with the ability to quit on her and her teammates, to me that is not greatness, that is something else.
Point being, just because someone holds the most points scored, yards carried, games won, does not mean that they are the GOAT. That title encompasses much more than just the cold stats. It encompasses leadership, perseverance, and self sacrifice.
This is one major flaw of sports culture today. It is a different time with different players, in a different world.
Is traveling still incur a penalty in the NBA? Seems not......if so, we need to remove about 40% of King James points, due to the fact that he travels countlessless per game.
Michael Jordan in the Last Dance documentary says: "If you speak Michael Jordan, than you must speak Scottie Pippen". That is leadership, that is greatness.
Who here remembers Kerri Strug? Remember the girl who landed a near 9.7, with one ankle and won the Gold for us? (USA) To me that is greatness.
Oksana Chusovitina, Chusovitina has competed in the Olympics since 1992 and has five complicated moves named after her.
Larisa latynina held the record for gymnastic medals for nearly 50 years.
So in conclusion, I disagree with the idea that Simone Biles being the GOAT of USA or Olympic gymnastics, killer and powerful, not the GOAT.
