I watched it a lot growing up as well. I was into model trains at the time and loved the trolley.

I do; so much so that my wife has cross-stitched Snoopy and Woodstock on some of my pillow cases!
I'm a lifelong Peanuts fan.

Mr. Roger's was a western PA institution. Well loved and respected and genuine.

Saw a PBS special about Mr Rodgers and his influences . Once in the beginnings of his show, US Congress ways and means Committee was debating cutting funding for PBS and his show in particular. Rodgers went to DC and gave an impassioned speech about the youth of America needing more than to be just “left alone” by society, etc.


Like only Mr Rodgers could, he melted hearts on both sides of the aisle, and his funding was deemed to be in the national interest. No dissenting votes.

Those with littles probably know that Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood is a current PBS series loosely based on Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. It's animated and quite a bit different but a good quality show that shares many traits.

I'd say we need that form of media in all it's networks/channels (on-line, radio, TV, movies, etc).
