Was cross-checking some brands with the API licensing database, and came across this oddity. Motul's 8100 ECO-CLEAN in 0w20 shows as GF-6A certified (and now SQ/7A certified), yet unlike the 0w30 it doesn't have the starburst on the label. There are plenty of distributor/customer photos of the bottles that reflect this is the official finalized label too. It's marked as GF-6A in small text on the back, but that's not the same thing.
With so many owners manuals specifying that owners look for both the API donut and ILSAC starburst, why would Motul omit one of them on the label when it carries both certifications? And why on just this grade? Are there any other companies that have done this?
