I'm leaning toward using 300V 5W-40 Motul oil and was wondering if others have tried this one and have some backup info used oil analysis as to how it stood up. It would be good to know if the oil has sufficient detergents to keep the engine clean over about a 5000 - 10,000 mile run. Thanks.

I've been using the Motul 300V Power 5W-40 the previous 3 oil changes. I just sent the last one for UOA (5,500km/3,400mi). I'll update this thread when I get the results in a week or so.

Doug is correct, it's made for the track, not for daily-driven extended use. I actually moved away from it at my last OC since it's become too expensive for my requirements (BMW 2.5L M54 engine).

Then again I've seen a few used oil analysis on the 300V for street use and they returned good results.

I loved the 300v 5w-40 in my non-turbo Subaru, street driven and heavily autocrossed. I have a used oil analysis floating around somewhere, have to run out and take the kids to school in a few minutes but I'll post it for you later. Great oil, and now not so expensive comparatively :) What is it going in?

100% correct..I mailed the techs from Motul before I started using it and all of them confirmed that it actually exceeds all the specs they have for petrol motors and is perfectly save to use for normal oci in either my 330i E90 or my 2.0TFSI or OPC. From the VOA and UOA on this site they are talking the truth.
If you are concerned, then take a sample early on and check.
