Hi again. Any of you folks that use the Motorcraft filters happy with them. I have one to use but not sure as I hope the quality is good still. I saw DSparks cut open one, so...... Any input and thoughts and suggestions are welcome.
Ok, so if I put the MC synthetic blend in that I have one jug of left in with a MC FL-910S how long would you folks run it? Car is 11' Focus that does 95% highway miles. I am saying 8-9k, what say you? Or I will run the M1 AFE 0w20 I got for 10k since TIG1 is going 10k on his 07' focus

These seem to be very well made filters at a bargain price.
I've got one on our Focus right now.
For the price and wide availability, I don't think you'll find a better oil filter.
I'll answer your later post by saying that if you're driving 95% highway, I'd run the oil as long as you'd like to with no concerns. 8-9K on Motorcraft SB should be okay as would 10K on M1 and probably longer.

Until the olm/iolm reads under 10% Or zero. Whatever makes you happy.
Before it was general knowledge and before I became an active member here I had two with torn media that I had cut open. One was an FL1A and the other an FL1995. Neither of witch was used for any extended drains or anything crazy.
I just cut open an FL400 off of my brothers ranger and it was torn in two places. I will try and get pictures when I get a chance probably start a new thread.
No more Motorcraft or purolator filters for me though. Three strikes your out! That and the fact purolator refuses to admit they are having problems really irks me.
^^^ If you post a torn MC you are going to burst a lot of bubbles around here. Supposedly they are immune to the tearing. Reality is they do tear like the other tearolators.

Just wondering-did they have the metal crimp at the media seam? That "seams" to be a common thread in the tearing problem.

I believe that tears have been reported in both designs ... metal crimped seam, or only glued seam. Only 3 Motorcrafts have been logged into the failure spread sheet (which hasn't been updated for quite awhile).
