I have for your amusement a Motorcraft FL-2123-B12 oil filter dissection. This is off of my 2024 Ford Ranger with the 2.3L Ecoboost engine. Filter was in service for 3,000 miles using Valvoline High Mileage Synthetic Blend 10W-30. Was replaced with a Hastings LF563 oil filter and Quaker State Full Synthetic 5W-30.

This is basically the same filter as the Motorcraft FL-2114-B12 I previously opened a week ago with the exception of this filter having a silicone ADBV. Filter had wide pleat spacing at the join seam but no tearing was observed and still holding up fine and well bonded with the fiber end caps.

Disregard any dirt or grit in the pics on the base plate as I had this filter laying outside in the elements before opening.

Very good photos. I’m shocked to see a ECORE with silicone ADBV. Thank You sir for the hard work 👍🍻

I believe the old Motorcraft (ie, Purolator) design is still available. Think this version came out when supply chains broke down and they needed another source of Motorcraft filters.
Yea, it is. Bravo to them for making it a separate part number instead of just rolling them all in to one.
