Motorcraft FL400s dented

To my dismay, I fount out that one of the Motorcraft FL400s filters I got has a dent in the bottom of it, a little off center. Will it still be okay to use or should I return it?

Return it! A dent will restrict internal oil flow in the filter!

Id return as it probably got banged up during shipping or handling somewhere. Good solid filter.

If it was a tiny dent i would think it would not matter much. But a big one could change the flow for sure. i guess if your @nal enough to be on an oil forum you should exchange it.

Yes, I was thinking to return it. Don't know how I missed it though, because I always at least open the filter box before buying.. ohwell!

definetly exchange it.. there's no reason to risk having something jarred or out of place.

Yeah, I'd probably use it if I couldn't return it, but if you have the option, play it safe.
