I realize you are just passing on what you read. Rods being destroyed is not an oil issue. It is an assembly, abuse, or quality of part issue. A "rod" doesn't fail due to oil in any way shape or form. Actually, the rod itself does not technically even need lube. The bearings do and the wrist pin does but the rod itself = nope. Was this a bearing or wrist pin issue maybe?

Go ahead and try it. As others have said, run more than one OCI. I would run two of each, and UOA on the second run.
