I realize you are just passing on what you read. Rods being destroyed is not an oil issue. It is an assembly, abuse, or quality of part issue. A "rod" doesn't fail due to oil in any way shape or form. Actually, the rod itself does not technically even need lube. The bearings do and the wrist pin does but the rod itself = nope. Was this a bearing or wrist pin issue maybe?

but I also do my fair share of highway driving between 70-80mph. My driving habits have always been the same, and should be almost identical to the current fill of Pennzoil I have and I will run it for the same amount of miles. I know it's not scientific by any means, but I think I've run enough UOAs on my car (5+) to know how my car wears, and it always comes back excellent. So if there is a sudden spike in Iron, I would be worried.
