Anyone done a study between the oils at Canadian Tire?
Nugold vs. Supreme vs. Formula 2000?

Is there a significant difference in the additive pack?

You mean Formula 1. Tech 2000 is the Walmart brand.

There's a VOA on the regular Motomaster 10W30 in the VOA forum I believe. Nobody seems to know for sure the difference between all their house brands though.

There's a slight chance that Nugold, Supreme, and Auto Lab are all the same product, since Shell only makes one grade of conventional oil for cars. The F1 might be their syn blend. This is just a wild guess, but it would be good for a laugh if it were true.

Yes I meant Formula 1.....

So if they are all the same...that means #@$%! tire is ripping people off

Heh...i have found better and cheaper places to buy oils then at crapphole tire. Honestly, i want to see an oil analysis of the entire line of Motomaster oils to confirm my theory that crapphole tire is just ripping consumers off.

When they have sales, CT definitely has the best prices around! Their regular prices are too high though, but why buy at full price when their stuff goes on sale so often?

I agree with Patman. Unless you use only one brand of oil then you have your choice of their weekly specials. Even there synthetic is on sale at least once every couple months in the four litre jugs for $20. Can't beat that.

Let's think about this for a second. Is it conceivable that anyone so cheap that they use Canadian Tire house brand oils is going to fork out the tens of dollars needed to capitalize a VOA???

Who says that using the Canadian Tire house brand is being cheap? It's made by Shell, so it's gotta be a pretty good oil, and people that read this site all the time know there are a lot of lower cost oils which outperform oils that cost a lot more. It's not about being "cheap", it's being smart. Why spend more than you need to if the lower cost oils are getting the job done very well? I'm very tempted to try out Canadian Tire's 5w20 in my wife's car someday (heck, I might just try out a whole bunch of different oils in her car over the next few years, there are so many that I am interested in testing out)

Im a freak about testing out too, Before i was a syntec guy for life now im starting to use whatever canadian tires has on sale because i like to try new things, and i always get a uoa done on every single oil change

I have to admit - I used their Formula 1 and their Nugold a few years ago. No problems. I know that the local independant bike shop only uses Supreme in all of the bikes that he changes oil on. Of course, it is 10W40, not 5W20.
