What do you think are the most "trendy" and/or "fashionable" cars on the market today? Don't hesitate to break them down into groups, depending on the type of people who would buy them. I'm interested in seeing your list, and why.

Toyota Camry!

STi/EVO w/ full exhaust, intake, and ECU reflash
because you can and it's so easy.

SUV's on 24's or bigger
mom's like loud exhausts too.
more TV screens than my house.

Lifted trucks. socal/baja style with the nose up.
Gotta have a moto-x, indy, or spitfire sticker.
gotta have a loud exhaust

Lifted Hummer's on HUGE rims.

Chrysler 300M or Dodge Magnum on HUGE rims.

Riced out honduhs. 240SX's with Silvia frontends and SR-swaps.
It's socal...

Yellow paint and chrome.

G35's lowered with big rims

This is going to vary based on region. So being from So.cal as most people might know German cars are usually very popular here and for less expensive cars Japanese models usually fill in the spot.

More specifially it seems that everyone and their mother has a BMW 3-series out here as it's a popular high school/college car. Also Porsche's seem to be the current MILF vehicle. I played cat and mouse on the freeway with a lady in her Cayman S today...her windows were down with her blowing around and she opened it up to 110 or so...pretty quick little car. Then I exited the freeway to have a 997 Carrera 4S convertible with the top down and a hot blonde right on the rear of my car. Did I mention I love living in so.cal, haha?

On the lower end of prices the Civic, Audi A3, Mazda 3 seem pretty popular with the younger crowd while the older crowd seems fond of the Camry/Accord. American...well yes the rental cars seem to have that one covered excluding the pickups.

Thats funny because its not like that in NJ, at least the not the 300M. I know of one other student, besides me who has one at my school (about 10,000 undergrad + grad) and see maybe 2 others on a regular basis in the parking deck. None of them have huge rims. Actually I don't think I've ever seen one around here with huge rims.
The trendy cars car among students seem to be mainly 3 series BMW's and the Acura TSX or TL.

Ford Model T. Get one of those in good condition and you have something not everybody else have.

College, or just out, kids: Honda Accord or anything Acura, because they don't remember when Honda's were junk, and all their friends have one.

When they can afford to go from a six or seven year note to a lease payment, any BMW with a "3" in the model number, because they want to give the appearance of prosperity, without actually being prosperous.

Mini

Saw a ton of these in DC, great one can have a fashionable BMW-sold car that gets good mileage and can park in that horrible mess down there.

I forgot, Mazda 3&6. I like the 3 wagon.

Technically a '5 door' by Mazda's account, not a wagon. Also, Hatchback. There have been threads on Mazda forums longer than Pablo's rock odyssey thread thrashing this issue out.

Anyway, I have the sedan. I'm feeling very trendy. Over one million of all Mz3 types produced worldwide since '04. I think Toyota might make that many Corolla's each month.

I think you have to combine the driver and the vehicle to get the trendy award. I pulled a Civic Hybrid out of a ditch with a '50 Chevy 1-ton pickup. Driver error. After pulling the car out, the driver told me I should be more considerate of the environment and drive a more eco friendly vehicle. That owner came very close to being put back into the ditch. I think some of these eco friendly cars trade on the idea that some people are better than the rest of us. They know it, and when they drive one of these arcade game cars, then we know it too. I'll bet that's whey the Prius will outsell the Civic and Accord. It's got that litttle bit of extra appeal. That Civic from the ditch had a great big decal on the back that told the world that this was a driver that cared.

I totally agree. How many hybrids would sell if they weren't a completely separate model (ie Prius) or emblazoned with big stickers, have special colors and rims etc. (ie Civic). Cracks me up when people think they are saving the earth with these, when if they were really worried about the planet they'd buy an 8 year old Ford Escort, put some money into it to get it back to reasonable emissions if necessary, keep the tires inflated and drive slowly.

I bought my Civic because I liked it. Fuel savings is a bonus but I'm not fooling myself into thinking that putting yet another brand new vehicle in circulation before my old one was used up is a win/win for the planet.

undoubtedly the scion xb/xa's, up there with the trendyness of the ipod! also the prius.

xb/xa user? probably the ipod freak type, macbook in hand, triple soy vanilla latte in the other.

gtx510 makes note of some good ones, the 300M with big rims is another, apparently it's the poor man's (really super poor man) bentley.

user? ghetto fabulous gangsta wannabees, stunna shades and air force ones - probably white kids.

"Lifted trucks. socal/baja style with the nose up."

seriously what is with that? I see these all the time in east county in San Diego, they look retarded!!!!!! they literally stand up on the floor board to see over the hood! and every one of the trucks I see like that have the huge nobby tires that are worn smooth from the freewway, and they are spit shined clean showroom style - I guess looking (or trying to in a really bad way) the part is better than being the part? maybe they should come out with stickers like those fake bullet holes, but ones that look like mud or dirt instead, you know - so they don't have to actually get the truck dirty but make it look like they use the offroad package for it's intended purpose! if you want to be a poser, go all the way!

user? phony redneck type, the guy who says git-r-done 40 thousand times in the store while shopping for what he thinks is the most redneck beer according to stereotype, just turns out to be an SDSU student trying for some kinda east county street cred.

theres a lot of posers in San Diego, last week at sea world I saw a few people wearing t-shirts that just said "local", who they are trying to convince I'm not sure - probably themselves.
