Do any of you have the Gilmour DVD "Remember that Night" filmed at the Royal Albert Hall? If not find a way to watch it...ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL! Neil Young at Massey Hall (footage from 1971 I believe) is pretty neat too.

Don't forget THIN LIZZY's Brian Robertson ( ? ) ,Scott Gorham , Gary Moore . BRIAN JONES of THE STONES .

Robbie Robertson of THE BAND . Who was the lead guitarist of MOTT THE HOOPLE then was lead guitar for DAVID BOWIE ? He's overlooked .

Didn't see Keith Richards or Pete Townsend on your list.
Not flashy lead players, but Richards especially has written many classic riffs. Knoplfer should be on anybody's list.

Most influential in rock? Answer probably depends on your age. But going back in time and looking at the big picture, my top 5 in no special order:

1. Chuck Berry
2. Buddy Holly
3. Eric Clapton
4. Jimi Hendrix
5. Eddie Van Halen

Honorable mentions to Randy Rhoads (still so influential that entire guitar magazine issues are dedicated to him), Tony Iommi, Jimmy Burton, Peter Green, Link Wray, **** Dale, Y. Malmsteen, Paul Gilbert, SRV, that crazy bucket person who was raised by chickens, and a hundred other great guitarists.
