Would like to go to the Mopar at Carlisle as I have never been there. Wondering if there is a better day to go. I am thinking Fri or Sat.

Been there many times. The weather for me can be the deciding factor.

Saturday if you like it more crowded and more action, Friday has less people, and quieter.

Also the program of events can be viewed on carsatcarlisle.com

I went up to this event last year on a Saturday, and it was Hot and there were a lot of people. There were people smoking cigs and the smell of smoke was not fun. Bring a Cooler with plenty of Water, it felt like I was in an Oven, when I went up it was Sunny and about 90 degrees with no wind.

I gotta look at a recent map but I recall only the one E-W road. Fear the traffic.
A day trip from NJ? Go real early whichever day you select
You are correct, to get there you are going down 1 lane roads each way. I went with a person that was looking for some Mopar Parts that he needed for his 1971 Plymouth Road Runner restoration. Getting up early in the morning and driving is not worth it if you really want to get some parts or enjoy all of the Cars. You are better off checking into a hotel late Thursday if you want to see everything for 2 days or check in Friday Night for your Hotel if you want to enjoy everything on Saturday.

There was a backup of traffic when we went down the 1 lane road around 8:30 am and it was already Hot outside. I got up at 6 a.m. and my buddy picked me up at like 7 a.m. and he drove up there. Looking back, a hotel would have been the better way to go.

I was going to say that.
Last time we went to Hershey, we stayed in Lebanon.
As I recall, there was a battery warehouse in Lebanon which sold to the public.
Racks of different sized batteries AND I had a bad, lawn tractor battery with me.
Guess which one they were sold out of (gotta laugh).

This is no joke...use plenty of sunscreen and wear a hat with a large brim too. Last time I went was ~10 years ago and it reached an actual temperature of 103 degrees F on Saturday afternoon! My buddy had leg cramps and we had to carry him back to the car in the parking lot to sit in the AC. Scope out the displays located inside of tents for relief from the sun.
