What are the chances of successfully extracting the studs from a set of heads manufactured in 1966? Remember the MOPAR studs go into the water jacket. I envision some breakage. I will throw the headers on there before I attempt to remove the studs and see if there is enough clearance on the flanges for the nuts first. Anyone have any experience putting headers on a 440 Mopar? Hints? These are 78030 Hedman and have pretty small collectors on them.

I looked up the size 3/8-16 which is about 9.5mm so its pretty stout stud that should come out without too much trouble. Studs are not going to be as tight as bolts would be as there in very little pressure on the threads.
I never did one on a 440 the only one I sort of remember doing was a 1970 383 Road Runner many years ago.

If you can, get the studs nice and hot with a cheap handheld MAP gas torch, the yellow bottle ones. They work friggin wonders.
