Mopar Oil Filter

The 05281090 (MO-90) is almost a purolator, the only difference that i've seen is the bypass is on the threaded end and not in the dome.

I've heard that the Viper filter (5037836AA) is actually a wix made filter and not a purolator.

It's deja vu all over again.

And apparently not all made by Purolator. https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/mopar-filter-questions.139613/

And more.

Well im asking again because i saw some Mopar filters at an auto parts store and they look like they were redesigned and i was curious if anyone used them yet or knew anything about them... All the other ones up until today were made by purolator..But thank you for the deja vu thing detective glad to see you are on the job keep up the good work!

And just a quick note the post that you posted of me asking a similar question was written about a year ago and some things change enery once in a while.. But again thanks

Your welcome. Of course it doesn't take much detective work to run a google search of the site to see what's new before posting a redundant thread starter.

And just a note, the second thread showing all Mopars are not made by Purolator (as you state in your post) was posted only 9 days after yours. So apparently all the other ones up until today were NOT made by Purolator. But that too would require some searching.

And, had you run a google search you might have also realized that some filters are labeled Chrysler, and look to be made by Wix.

But your welcome again for the links and the google search results too.

sayjac...quit being rude. Nothing worth getting fired up about...its an online forum. He's not asking anyone to visit the MOPAR filter manufacturer, investigate the process, and work in a sweat shop for 2 months. If you don't want to answer then don't. No rudeness required.

OT I don't consider it rude to point out related site searches and links to threads with previously posted information. I do think it inconsiderate and non productive especially for established posters, to post redundant thread starters.

Apparently some of the mods think similarly as they will frequently close a thread and consolidate with multiple previous threads on the same topic.

There have been other threads here where others besides myself have expressed similar thoughts about using search first, and with far less diplomacy than I. Unfortunately using search first seems to be something that is becoming less common here.

EXCEPT for the ones made by Wix. In their Dillon SC facility.

I have not seen a WIX made Mopar filter, only Purolator. The Purolator made filters have the by-pass valve in the base instead of the dome like other Purolators.

Wix makes some OEA MoPar filters. Plain and simple. They're made in their Dillon SC facility. Most are the smaller sizes.
