Hi all here is my second C&P. I have tried to gather more info as recommended from my first post including the date code on the filter. The can and base plate seemed stout, this filter is for a diesel engine. The filter did not have an ADV but I have yet to find one that does for this engine. I did not notice anything way out of sorts, but please chime in.

Filter area is 460.625 Square inches. I measured 5/8" deep pleat, 5-1/2" long and counted 67 pleats.

The filter had 7,673 miles on it with Mobil Delvac 1300 15W40. I put Mobil Delvac 1300 15W40 and the MO-285 back in and on.

That's a ton of media area. Glad to see you're doing the scale/measurement method ... way easier and no mess compared to cutting out the media. Thanks for the C&P.

so is this good, bad or just an observation? Many on the Cummins forum rant about using only Fleetguard filters...
Its a good filter, but you may be able to find the Fleetguard LF3972 cheaper online if you buy a few to put on the shelf. There are better filters available with higher efficiency. I use the Donaldson DBL7349 or Fleetguard LF16035 typically on mine.

Thanks for the heads up! I ordered 2 MO-285's the last time I needed stuff from Rock Auto. They were $6.73 each, so a much better price than the local retailer pricing. I'll keep an eye out for the Fleetguard filters. That's the only brand I will use for the CCV and fuel filters on my truck.

I found the LF16035 on Amazon for~$13/pc. Certainly not cheaper than the Mopar MO-285 at less than $7 from Rockauto. I ordered 3 Fleetguards anyway to try on my next oil change. Well see what the C&P looks like

just my $0.02
