2012 Ram 2500 Delvac 15W40 7,600 miles

Latest sample from Blackstone. Overall, I'm pretty happy with this one. It is the longest sample I have run and ~4k miles of this sample was towing our 11K TT. I use Mobil Delvac 1300 15W40 and the Mopar Filter on my truck. I have bought some FL-16035 to try on the next OCI. It appears I could go longer but this was ~10 months. As a side note the OCI came on in the dash.

I’d be curious to see how it would do with a Donaldson DBL 7349 filter. Is this truck stock or uh...... modified? Does the 12’ use urea? I’m glad to see someone running something besides T6 or some other boutique synthetic oil. I run conventional oil in my 18’.

I ordered the Fleetguard's as mentioned above. We'll see how they do. The 2012's are the last year before DEF, so it is an iT4 era that is suppose to use diesel fuel for the DPF regen.

I am a Mobil 1 oil guy so I immediately put Delvac in this truck when I bought it over 4 years ago. I be honest, I have been eyeing the full synthetic Mystik JT-8 oil in the 6 gallon box. It is very reasonably priced at Farm & Fleet, especially with the rebate.

The Fleetgaurd Stratapores are good filters also. That’s what I’m running on mine this go around. I’ve got a 2008 Silverado that has never had anything but Mobil 1 in it since the FF was drained at 1500 miles and it’s coming up on 150,000. Not 1 single problem. But I’m using Rotella T4 in my 18’ 6.7. I used 1 OCI with VPB and towed my 7k TT for 4700 miles and did an OC and the filter smelled like roofing tar.
The Mystik is made by Citgo I believe and has good specs.
