The search feature is just a pita to figure out. I just played around with it for awhile and learned how to use it.

I have used both (Mobil 1 15w50 & RP 20w50) on my old BMW and didn't notice any discernable seat-of-the-pants difference between the two. Amsoil 20w50 full synthetic (not XL) seemed to make the motor a little "happier" than the aforementioned two, but IMO the best oil available regardless of price would be Redline.

For your purposes, I see no reason to "upgrade" from Mobil 1 if it has been working well thus far.

I think you have it backwards.

Saab uses ecotec blocks, the very best of the production line would typically go to the 2.0T engines, the normal ones would go to the 1.8t and 2.0t engines. Saab did their own design of the head, turbo, engine management system, etc., etc.

They are both good oils. Cars seem to prefer different oils. Try RP and see how it works for your vehicle. You might also consider Amsoil or Redline.

What OCI (Oil Change Interval) are you using now?

I think you are mistaken.


Then what does GM use for Dino in its Vehicles sense GM has a contract with XOM and GMGoodrich oil is Mobil. You would think factory fill Dino would be Mobil???

Hi,
IME even though "prime" supply Contracts may be in place it is commonplace to have more than one lubricant supplier unless the Manufacturer especially notes a lubricant for a specific vehicle or engine family

This overcomes shortages in the supply chain
