After Pennzoil Rhodium is released …

The owners manual will give you the oil specs , select an oil that meets those specs.

In my area PP prices jumped about $9 for 5 qt. Within last few months (winter to summer) and now higher than Mobil 1 Extended Performance ...
so I am test driving Mobil 1 Extended Performance 10Wx30 in one car! As far oil burning i give it A+++ best ever! I will try PP 10Wx30 next if price goes back to normal. Before Mobil 1 Extended Performance i had PP 5Wx30.

Same size jugs? I can only find 4.4 ltrs of Mobil but 5 ltrs is never a problem with Pennzoil?

CDN Tire, a popular auto/oil place up here currently has Mobil 4.4 + a 1 ltr bottle on for $65.99.

Pennzoil Platinum, in a 5 lt jug is $53.99.

I don't know about you, but I don't think getting another 400 mils of oil for another $12 bucks is a great deal?

FWIW I got 4.4 +1L of Mobil 1 5w30 not too long ago for $32.99 CDN. Nobody in their right mind would pay $65 for that package, just like nobody in their right mind would pay $50+ for any synthetic oil up here.

Everyone knows if you look out for sales up here, you are going to find the same deals for all the major synthetics.

You'd be surprised.

Does Mobil not come in 5 ltr jugs yet up here, Patman? I don't shop for it, obviously, but when I do look or notice, 4.4 is always the largest I see?
5 quarts/liters is available in the U.S. I assume?

mobile 2 already exists, it's when you take the oil you've just drained from your good car, and put it in your beater.

and it doesn't matter what the original brand was.

It's supposed to be changed, at least for Walmart, but I haven't yet seen it, and my experience has always been what you mentioned, 4.4 L jugs, and that's from the distributor, too.

In the US they are all in 5 quart sizes, and Mobil 1 is usually cheaper than the rest for the most part (Walmart has it for $22.88 a jug quite often, the others are usually closer to $25-27 most of the time)

Not necessarily true. It all depends on what "Flavor" of Mobil 1 oil you choose to use? (Just how many different oil choices are there? I went through 2 pages and said enough is enough!

I bought PPPP 5Wx30 in November time frame for ~$21.xx for 5 qt. jug. Then in April i went to get PPPP 10Wx30 and all PPPP were ~$29.xx per 5 qt.
Mobil 1 Extended Performance (Extended Performance) was ~$28.xx for 5qt. Same price as PP or a little less ... Not a major price difference but I decided to give Mobil 1 Extended Performance a try and see how it goes. So far after 4K miles the oil is still at the full mark! I am very impressed oil burning (noack?) wise and maybe hooked. lol
However I will give a PPPP 10Wx30 a try and compare next time if PP prices go back to normal.
I want to figure out if 10Wx30 in general was the cause of near 0 (low noack) oil loss of if it's because of Mobil 1 Extended Performance. I have used conventional 10Wx30 in same car but had to add some oil, never zero like Mobil 1 Extended Performance. With PPPP 5Wx30 i also had to add some oil as well but not too much.
As far as millage wise I don't pay much attention to what EP (15K miles) or any other oil company say. I try not to go over 7K miles with synthetic and do my own touch, smell and color test... Speaking of which, the color with Mobil 1 Extended Performance has stayed pretty clean/good (kind of light brown) after 4K miles. But I know people argue over the color and the what it does or does not represent ...

Pennzoil's selector recommends PUP.

It is funny though the entry level tiered XOM product (both conventional and synthetic) meets the Chrylser ms-6395 spec, but their top tier synthetic does not.

I would think either all or none personally.
