Aviation lubricants in the US market:

1. AeroShell
2. ExxonMobil
3. All the rest

When you count SOPUS that owns Pennzoil/QS, Shell is number one in finished lubricants in nearly all categories worldwide.

In US gasoline refining, not XOM, not Chevron, not BP, nor ConocoPhillips, but Valero is number one and very few have even heard of them.

I have. Father in-law is a manager their. Before that, never heard of them. They bought out the magagment and refinery from XOM when he worked for XOM.

Well, he's versatile as both #6 and #9. Next run in Michigan I think is the "Batman" car. Maybe bat guano as an additive? My son was a big fan, but I'm just not into Nascar, much.

Last #6 Viagra used had little Valvoline logos. #9 was the complete Pennzoil car.

I believe Valero probably leads in the number of facilities, but by barrels per day capacity, the Energy Department rank is as follows:

ConocoPhillips..2,199,700
ExxonMobil.......1,843,800
BP..................1,504,500
Valero.............1,391,742
ChevronTexaco 1,006,901

This is total distillation capacity, so jet fuel is included in the bbl/day.

Energy Information Agency - DOE

Valero runs many small to mid-sized refineries, but does not have the huge facilities like XOM at Baytown & Baton Rouge, BP at Whiting IN, or Chevron Texaco at Pascagoula MS.

What brand of vehicle oils does BP or Valero sell?

Triple_Se7en, Castrol was aquired by BP. BP branded oils are also sold outside the USA.

Valero, I think none. They run refineries only.

Valero does sell Group I/II base oils though. I don't know what oil they might sell in their stores. There's a Valero station near home, although I suspect it's independently operated and any motor oil sold would be up to the owner/manager.

I have fond memories of school "field trips" as a kid at the Richmond Rod & Gun Club, which was a recreational facility for the employees of the Chevron refinery in Richmond, CA. I believe this is now their primary facililty for hydrocracked base oils, although they do put out a lot of gasoline. I've driven by there, and man is it huge.
