Okay, here it is. My first ever UAO. The motor has 10K miles and 4 track days. The oil had 4250 miles and 2 track days

They seem to like the wear metals but mention the high aluminum although it doesn't concern them. Also the chromium is a little higher than normal.

Can anyone explain this?

Thanks, appreciate that.

Chrom is also 10-30 PPM.

Looks good for a fresh mill with that kind of use

Nothing stands out as being out of line. TBN is high, fuel is low. All-in-all, a good showing.

I'd say this UOA looks good for track use, and low miles.

On a separate note ...

I realize that this is "old" and not directly related to the current posted UOA, but what happend to "blow it up"? Was it over-revving, oil starvation, etc? What oil brand/grade history was present in the "old" engine?

Here's the reason I ask ...
Many times some people might do one of three things:
1) credit oil for things it's not capable of
2) discredit oil for things that were not it's fault
3) presume some other lube would have or would not have saved the engine from doom

First engine had 87K and 30 track days. GM replaced motor so I never found out what failed. There were 2 holes in the block. Usually this means a droped valve in these motors. I was using Mobil 5w30. Track temps would be 280+

Decided to go with the Mobil 0w40 for its better additive package and better protection by the 40w during track events.

Not saying one way or the other if the 5w30 contributed or if the 0w40 will prevent a similar failure. Just figure it can't be detrimental to run this oil with my usage of this car.
