Third UOA on this Gen V LT1-powered 6-speed Camaro (Not LT9 as noted in the report). The engine is completely stock and sees about 80% highway use on a daily 40 mile commute, returning an average of about 25mpg every week. Unless I'm running it hard, oil temps sit between 195 and 205 despite the lack of a real oil cooler....I guess 10 quarts absorbs a lot of heat.

This car sat on the lot for a bit before I got hold of it during the unusually cold winter of 2024 down here in the SE and likely saw some rough treatment during that time which I theorized was the reason for the high-ish Iron that is thankfully trending down.

Oil used was Mobil1 Supercar 0W-40 and an OEM ACDelco PF64 filter. I'm using this oil to because I'm required to run a DEXOS approved oil to maintain my CPO warranty. I did use a bit of oil during this run which is unusual but I did run the car hard in the upper RPMs here and there....so I'm not worried about it. I did notice OA is no longer flagging the oxidation which is a good call, as this level is normal for this oil.

Past oils used were both Mobil1 ESP X3 0W-40s with the same filters.

Here are my numbers from the first UOA on my '23 2SS 6 speed. I have minimal miles because I drive only city and not much. The oil had 1 year 3364 miles. This was ESPx3.

BTW, most mobil1 0w-40 are now "dexos r" certified. This includes ESPx4, FS 0w-40, and the pricier Supercar. X4 is probably the best deal at autozone, but FS 0w-40 is the cheapest (walmart). I also use pf64. I'm currently using ESP 5w30 because I don't track, but will switch to FS 0w-40 next month.

looks good! i wouldn't give too much thought to any high numbers, your SS is still just getting broken in with miles that low.

i did just see where they expanded the DexosR compatible oils. FS will definitely be the easiest for me to grab and I already run it in my 4Runner as well, so I can just keep my inventory to 1 brand and viscosity which is great!

🧐 why was oxidation at 30&33 flagged RED last time but the current one at 34 isn’t? 🤨

my guess is because they realized it was the nature of the oil formulation and not a result of the operation of the vehicle? not sure honestly, but its fine with me as i ignore it.

Wear metals have come down, 80% highway miles, 10qt sump... I think could be doing once a year, 8-10k mi OCI's no problem with that oil.

Yes I believe factory change intervals are somewhere in that OCI range you mentioned, if you change based off of the stock OLM going to 0% life. I'm sure I could push it out a bit. At what % fuel dilution do most folks here agree is a point of calling for an oil change?

Good results, definitely good to see the iron trending down. That first sample would be ouch if not showing such a rapid improvement in your use and care. I'm guessing that high wear was from typical car-lot usage: start it up, move the car 20 feet, shut it off, repeat dozens of times a month, interrupted only by test drives of mostly cold engines.

If true, given such heinous abuse, the even the first sample isn't so bad. The rapid recovery in wear levels is very encouraging to see.
